Every year...when it reaches CNY period, I'll be exceptionally moody. I HATE myself for being away from home & unable to celebrate the most important festival in the Chinese Lunar Calendar.

However, I don't wanna keep on nagging & let the same thing make me miserable again & again every year. So, I am trying to be on the positive side & try to be cheerful happily at work everyday. Yupp...that's me trying to turn over a new leaf & see things differently. Haha...not so easy to make me miserable...

I wanna change & make a different approach in my life (work life that is..) especially during CNY. Won't think about home, won't complain about WHY I'm at work while everyone at home is enjoying (probably not as it's hard to imagine them enjoying themselves in my absence..hehe). So, here I am, showing off the new stuff I have to cheer myself up getting ready for work.

Wake up -> brush my teeth -> wash my face -> put on new uniform -> set my hair -> put on make up -> wear my new shoes...ta da -> lastly, plaster on a dazzling smile & off I go...wishing everyone I see GONG XI FA CAI...doesn't really matter whether I know them or not...hehe

Another thing worth mentioning, this is going to be the final year I enjoy receiving angpaus only & not giving out. NEXT YEAR, mind you...when I'm legally Mrs Sim...I'll enjoy the pleasure of GIVING out to those still single..or kiddies...WOW...I can't wait!! Life should be more of GIVING than GETTING, right? Well...GONG XI FA CAI EVERYONE!!!

CoMpLeTe bRiDaL sHoesss CoLLeCTioN

As I was saying in the previous post, I just need a pair of silver sandals & I'll be ready for the pre-wedding photo shoot. There...I got it couple of days back when it was our 3years & 11 months anniversary. It's slightly higher than my usual heels. I was abit worried when buying; what if I fall? It would really be embarassing as the bride is always the centre of attention in weddings. This is the kind of attention that I wouldn't wanna attract. Haha...but then, Dada said, it's gonna be fine as he would be by my side all day to ensure that I always have someone to hold on to, even if I really did lose my balance. Awww...sweet eh...so there you go, got them on a 20% discount @ Padini Concept Store.

So, I'm almost done. Only need to get these few more items before I can head to Seremban:

• Fake nails (I wanna get to pick the ones I REALLY like)
• Stockings (just to have a few extras in case of emergencies)
• Fake eyelashes (want a few more options for different shots & themes...)
• Start to dig into my earring boxes for all those COOL accessories that I can contribute to the photo shoots...
• Bring along a few more pairs of sandals of assorted colours & styles to go with more gowns

On the other hand, I have been doing alot of researches on the internet on wedding plans & ideas. Then, I came across the idea of wearing cheongsam during the tea ceremony. As Dada & I have decided, the church ceremony in KK, I'll be wearing the wedding gown, then the tea ceremony in Taiping, I should be wearing the chinese 'kua' as one should not wear a wedding gown twice. (Since the bride should be wearing the wedding gown to both ceremonies & that due to the distance between both locations, we could not do both in a day). But come to think of it, I don't think I'll look good in a chinese 'kua' as it looks uncomfortable, heavy with lots of beads & sequins, (not to mention HOT as it's always long-sleeved & comes with a long skirt till your ankles). Further more, with my petite figure, I think I'll end up looking like a little girl in her mum's clothes. Haha..

So, the next best thing is the cheongsam. I have always liked cheongsam designs, the high-necked mandarin collar (I don't even need to worry about what necklace to wear coz I'm not gonna bother wearing at all!) GREAT, one thing less to worry about.

After coming up with that idea, I have been searching around for styles that I like & hopefully will suit me. Sigh~~how I wish I can be taller, then ANYTHING will look good on me...:( Have filtered out the ones I think will only look good on tall people & ended up with these few. Will get a professional to give me some advice & hopefully offer more options. Meanwhile, this is what I've got.

Thinking of having it tailor-made as it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get a cheongsam that fits perfectly off the rack. It's a good idea! I'll then get to choose the design..the colour..& the material..COOL! Let's hope I find a good tailor for it...(**fingers crossed**)

My 2009 FoReCasT

THe BooKWorM iN Me

It has been a while since I last purchased a novel to read. Couple of days back when I was supposed to be out shopping for the wedding, I took a break & went into MPH bookstore instead. Just felt the urge to read a book, with proper English, away from the broken English & Pencemaran Bahasa or "Language Pollution" that we face everyday.

By reading the synopsis, this one seems interesting & thick enough for my money's worth. Hehe..with 30% discount, this book costs less than RM25. Hmmm..seems like a good buy..OK, let's hope that it's up to my expectation. Not really sure when I'll finish it. With me spending so much time online searching everything & anything on weddings, then there's the cross-stitch that is about 30% undone, CNY coming up, which is always the busiest time of the year + I have made up my mind to hit the sack early everynight (in order to have sufficient beauty sleep & look my BEST on my wedding)...there's probably not much time for me to read. Let's hope my urge to read & learn more vocab will not die down soon.Haha...

WeDDiNG pRePaRatioN PaRt 1

These off days have been quite hectic as we shop around & look for things we 'might' need for our wedding. Hmm...let's have a look at what we have got so far:

#1 - The bling-blingsss

Well, the modest, smaller blings that I wanna indulge in. Yes...all fully paid by me, myself. This is just the beginning...hehe. Will go for some serious shopping when I go back to KK, to daddy's goldsmith friend. I just like the simplicity of this necklace. Nothing too over-the-board & something that I can wear everyday..after the BIG day..

A gift for ME..from ME :)

After months of searching high & low for the 'perfect ring' for the equally perfect couple, we've finally got it today! It's something simple also, nothing too complicated but, unique at the same time as well. However, too bad, this ring will have to be by itself for a while as its' 'wife' (mine) is away doing alteration. Hehe...

#2 - Wedding Shoessss..

Yeah!!! I found 2 pairs of really nice & unique shoes that I can't wait to put them on! Went shopping around @ Taiping Sentral on a boring afternoon (well, actually every afternoon @ Taiping is boringggg..hehe). Anyway, went into a shoe shop with no particular intention to get my wedding shoes at that moment. Knowing myself, if I get them too early, I'll just keep on buying & buying more white shoes as I see them..& keep saying it's for the wedding...haha. I hope I can control myself coz I really can't resist getting these:

aN iMpoRtaNt DaTe

One day last week, when I was getting abit bored at work, I suddenly thought of something. 28th November is a very important date for us. So, we should get something to 'commemorate' it.

We have a collection of the important dates goodies. Keyrings for his & my birthday (9th March & 7th September), a plastic bear for our 'dating anniversary (20th February) & now...we have a new addition to our collection. A chocolate brown bear for our WEDDING DAY, 28th November!

Oh yes, just to update you all, out of the 3 wedding dates, we have now confirmed KK & KL's venue of the wedding. Couple of days back, dad helped us to settle the deposit for Shangri-La in KK. Today, we confirmed where our dinner banquet will be held for the KL leg. Guess where?? It's none other than GICC!!! Yes, the place where we work, eat, sleep & shit at. Hahaha..I'm sooo excited..I'm slowly getting things done here..;)

1st BLoG iN 2009

Hello there, everyone..HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009 & WELCOME TO MY YEAR..the year that's going to be the most important in my life...yesss...the year I'm gonna get hitched..to this really, really lucky man from Taiping..haha..

Last night, this lucky man from Taiping was reading the papers & saw the McD advertisement on the once a year PROSPERITY Burger. Yeah, I know it has been out for quite a while, but then I'm referring to the Chicken one, okay. Oh no, don't even start guessing why I don't talk about the beef one. Is it due to my religion that I don't take beef? Naaa...it's just that Dada doesn't take beef. (Nope, ALSO not due to religion, it's just simply because he doesn't like the taste & the smell). So, the beef version doesn't really intrigue us that much as I personally prefer the chicken one, too.

It has been a yearly tradition that the Prosperity Burger is a MUST EAT thing. Since the year I started working in this place called City of Entertainment (I'm becoming be more & more superstitious). I believe it will bring me luck. Something that I MUST DO, to ensure that my year will go on being lucky. Haha..funny,eh?

So, Dada promised me to head over to McD on our break time & voila...here it is...(I personally feels it's a bit cheap to have it wrapped in the foil paper instead coming in a box as previous years.)

I feel all complete & ready to take on anything that will happen this year after this meal...
