So, we set a target, & plan the trip to be sometime next year. I am starting to search & search & search everyday planning for our dream vacation which will be also be our outstanding HONEYMOON trip. Stay tuned for updates...:) Gosh...I'm sooo excited! Wish I can get on the plane ASAP!

Hmm...I am just crazy about bags recently. And not that I purposely wanna look at branded ones but I just loooove this Chanel bag. I'm not sure about the price, or can say that I don't wanna know, or don't need to know. Of coz I'm not thinking of seriously getting it. Well, just let me have a look & keep thinking of it here...to satisfy my needs...(yeah, I know..it's a WANT, not NEED..hehe)

Nice?? I LOOOOOVE it

WeDDinG sHoPPinG

Since we're on leave again, we have shopped around for those little tiny details & things that we need for the big day. And before that, the photo shoot as well. Dada won't let himself be any less glamourous..so here's to the GROOM:

Ties that might come in handy Shoes for my PRINCE CHARMING

Now, let's look at this pair of absolutely cool white shoes for the GROOM. He has been looking high & low for WHITE shoes to complete his 'White Horse Prince' look. Haha...now he's got them! He's all excited & ready for the photoshoot in May! (So am I!!)

John Grisham collection

While we were shopping around for our wedding, we went into Borders in Times Square & happened to bump into a John Grisham promotion. 3 for the price of 2!! I've been hit by the bookworm bug again & chose 3 titles. Doesn't matter that it's not the latest but as long as it's something that I have not read & most importantly...at a reasonable price.

In my Vanity Basket

OK, when it comes to wedding, what is more important than the bride taking care of herself & be at her top form?? Well, I indulged in somethings that I wouldn't normally spend so much on...just for the sake of ensuring I look my best. I bought: Fake lashes & fingernails, facial & eye masks, face makeup & eye makeup remover, stockings in nude colour for the photoshoot, chin & forehead pore cleansing strips...wow wow wow...it feels soooo good to pamper yourself!

Some Stationeries that we will need

Before going down, Dada already had a list of things to buy. One important item on his list was none other than the equipment that we need to sign on the DOTTED LINE..Yess...it's the PEN! We initially wanted to buy only one, but then Dada said it would then be a mess as he would sign, then followed by me, then our witnesses. Just ONE pen to pass around for the 4 of us? Why don't we get 2? So, OK, we bought one RED & one BLUE, one for HER & one for HIM...:)

As for the glitter glue & Gold Marker...we'll not leak out the secret yet on what we'll use it for...stay tuned...

My Heart-shaped Diamond Bangle :)

I have always wanted to have a heart-shaped diamond. We were looking for one as the engagement ring, but then we couldn't get one that I like. So, in the end, we founda bangle instead, with a heart-shaped diamond...which is too lovely to say no...it's now MINE :) From Dada..with love...

Our Wedding Bands

As I have blogged previously, we got our wedding bands last month. But then, mine was sent for alteration & we picked it up only yesterday. Now they can both live happily ever after together...we'll keep it safe somewhere till the photoshoot in May...:)

As a conclusion: Wedding Progress...so far so good ;)

CoMpLeTe bRiDaL sHoesss CoLLeCTioN

As I was saying in the previous post, I just need a pair of silver sandals & I'll be ready for the pre-wedding photo shoot. There...I got it couple of days back when it was our 3years & 11 months anniversary. It's slightly higher than my usual heels. I was abit worried when buying; what if I fall? It would really be embarassing as the bride is always the centre of attention in weddings. This is the kind of attention that I wouldn't wanna attract. Haha...but then, Dada said, it's gonna be fine as he would be by my side all day to ensure that I always have someone to hold on to, even if I really did lose my balance. Awww...sweet eh...so there you go, got them on a 20% discount @ Padini Concept Store.

So, I'm almost done. Only need to get these few more items before I can head to Seremban:
  • Fake nails (I wanna get to pick the ones I REALLY like)
  • Stockings (just to have a few extras in case of emergencies)
  • Fake eyelashes (want a few more options for different shots & themes...)
  • Start to dig into my earring boxes for all those COOL accessories that I can contribute to the photo shoots...
  • Bring along a few more pairs of sandals of assorted colours & styles to go with more gowns

On the other hand, I have been doing alot of researches on the internet on wedding plans & ideas. Then, I came across the idea of wearing cheongsam during the tea ceremony. As Dada & I have decided, the church ceremony in KK, I'll be wearing the wedding gown, then the tea ceremony in Taiping, I should be wearing the chinese 'kua' as one should not wear a wedding gown twice. (Since the bride should be wearing the wedding gown to both ceremonies & that due to the distance between both locations, we could not do both in a day). But come to think of it, I don't think I'll look good in a chinese 'kua' as it looks uncomfortable, heavy with lots of beads & sequins, (not to mention HOT as it's always long-sleeved & comes with a long skirt till your ankles). Further more, with my petite figure, I think I'll end up looking like a little girl in her mum's clothes. Haha..

So, the next best thing is the cheongsam. I have always liked cheongsam designs, the high-necked mandarin collar (I don't even need to worry about what necklace to wear coz I'm not gonna bother wearing at all!) GREAT, one thing less to worry about.

After coming up with that idea, I have been searching around for styles that I like & hopefully will suit me. Sigh~~how I wish I can be taller, then ANYTHING will look good on me...:( Have filtered out the ones I think will only look good on tall people & ended up with these few. Will get a professional to give me some advice & hopefully offer more options. Meanwhile, this is what I've got.

Sexy

High-Necked

Feminine

Thinking of having it tailor-made as it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get a cheongsam that fits perfectly off the rack. It's a good idea! I'll then get to choose the design..the colour..& the material..COOL! Let's hope I find a good tailor for it...(**fingers crossed**)

CiaO 2008, HeLLo 2009..

Sigh~~There goes another year..with just a blink of an eye. How was my year? Well, by looking back at my 2008 resolutions..I think I did quite well in sticking to it..Applause! Applause!

Now, let's focus on looking ahead. What other major thing happening in 2009 that is more important than OUR BIG DAY??? Yessss...2009 will be MY YEAR..or rather OUR year. 1 year from now, I'll officially be known as Mrs Sim. Hahaha...I know, I know...I have mentioned this millions of times..but I just can't stop thinking about it, OK...

I believe, once I sit down & ponder on the happenings in 2009, exactly 1 year from now...I'll only have lovely memories of my BIG DAY to talk about...The wedding of the year..my dream, my fantasy..to become a reality on the fateful day of 28th November 2009..

In 2009, the one & only event that I'll make a huge success & give myself high expectations to work on would be my WEDDING. Nothing would ever top that. It's a once in a lifetime event, so just like every girl, I'm gonna make my Dream Wedding come true. I'll have to start planning & preparing from now...get ready & stay tuned to read ALL about my wedding here...(I have a feeling this will be turning into a wedding blog..hope I'll not bore you..)
So, 2009....HERE I COME!!

THe 1010 pRoPoSaL

10th October, 0100++hours: A very magical, historical moment in our lives. He proposed! After waiting for sooo long...he finally did it! It wasn't what I initially had in mind of my dream wedding proposal. I had always wanted a grand, romantic one where it must be in public that he goes on bended knees, slip the diamond into my finger, completed with flowers..with a huge public watching with envious looks...

Haha...but last night, I realised, a quiet moment with just the 2 of us is ALL that matters. Actually, our conversation leading to the proposal, was very meaningful. I was talking about how I felt so insecure, coz of a comment from a friend who recently broke up. She said at first, she thought that distance is always a problem in a relationship. But then, not now coz she & her ex-bf have been together in the same place & see each other everyday. At the end, he still left her & they still can't maintain their relationship. So, after pondering on this, I agreed. We shouldn't take things for granted and when things change, means there's no point in hanging on to it. Doesn't mean that you see that person 24hours a day, nothing will change; or that out of sight will definitely equal to out of mind.

Also, partly it's because for the past week, we have not been able to spend much time together due to work commitment. Here I am just back from Johor Bahru on Monday night, we only had Tues, Wed & Thurs before he had to leave me here all by myself to standby at KLIA for this weekend...:(

So, just suddenly, he took out the ring & said: "I wanna propose to you now, I want you to stay by my side forever, & I promise to stay by your side, taking care of you, loving you 1314. Be mine forever.." & he slipped the ring onto my finger...*sniff*sniff*

I cried..& we hugged each other tightly, never wanting to let go...

I couldn't sleep after that..too excited to feel the ring on my right ring finger...I love you, Dear..

In SeaRcH of tHe PeRFeCT RiNG

This off days, we had a really important thing to do..which is...to search for our wedding bands. Before that, HE would have to get the perfect proposal ring as well. We have been constantly searching for it. As there's no deadline, we do not feel the pressure. So it was just happy-go-lucky searching for it. We both agreed that once we see something that we like, we'd go.."that's it, that's the one" & grab it without hesitation.

Thanks to an ex-colleague who was online chatting with me, we made a spur of the moment decision to go up to Penang searching for it. Since my ex-colleague Charmaine sent me so many links & they all look gorgeous. I charmed Dada into taking me there right away!

I know, I have chosen the right guy. I sometimes really can't believe how lucky I am. He's really a great guy, loves me dearly & treats me like a princess..:)

So off we went to Queensbay Mall arriving around 1 hour & 15mins later at 3.45pm.

Queensbay Mall..here I come...

Patiently waiting for Dada to finish his Latte before we start hunting for the rings

After a sip of coffee, we went hunting for IT..there were many jewellery shops in the mall. OE, Diamond & Platinum, Lazo Diamond, Poh Kong & a few others. We saw one at OE, the diamonds very clear & BIG in a row, but it was very pricey. So, we decided to give that a miss. Then, we saw one that is really nice as well, but the salesgirl said they wouldn't be able to alter it. Coz the design doesn't allow it. Once altered, the shape & design might not be in place anymore...:( too bad. So, we basically left the place empty-handed. I didn't buy anything else.

However, there's also another mission for us to drive all the way to Penang...to meet my ex-colleague Charmaine. While waiting for her to get off work, we drove around Penang Island & ended up at Gurney Drive, just in time to watch the sunset.

Sunset @ Gurney Drive

It was also dinner time for us already, ring-hunting for the whole afternoon made us really hungry. We ordered a bit of everything: Char Kueh Teow, Laksa & Fried Oyster.Other than the Char Kueh Teow, which was not really good, the other 2 were OK. We loitered around while waiting for Charmaine. It was really great to meet up with her. We had alot of catching up to do. While I filled her with all the gossips from work, she told me about herself too. It was really fun gossiping like the good old days. We finally had to call it a day around 10pm as Dada looked tired & there's another long drive back to Taiping ahead of us..sigh~~

The many stalls at Gurney Drive

The other end of stalls
Charmaine & I after around of gossiping

The next day, another long drive - back to Genting. As usual, we chose to leave Taiping on Wednesday, leaving us an extra day to head over to KL. But then, we left late, around 7pm as Dada needed to have a haircut & the salon was packed. We had to wait but we put the time to good use, doing grocery shopping at Tesco before we head back to the salon.

We stopped at the Bukit Gantang for a toilet break. It was a nice stop, the place looks nice & pleasant. We saw this little hut right in the middle of the road. I feel like I'm at a Kampung! Too bad there isn't any paddy field around. Haha...it looks comfortable too! Just feel like climbing on to it & snore all the way...zzzZZZzz

Just feel like sleeping on it in the hot afternoon sun

Thursday, last day before going back to work. Our 'last' chance to hunt for the perfect ring, or we will have to put it to rest & wait till our next off days next month.

Our target locations this time: Sg Wang, Lot 10 & Times Square. Obviously, we spent the whole afternoon at Sg Wang. There was Diamond & Platinum, SK Diamonds, Lazo Diamond, Weng Kong, Tomei & many, many more. I saw one that looks really OK at Diamond & Platinum. But the picture below is not clear. I only realise now that it's not easy to take a clear picture of a diamond. That made itself into our final list that we narrowed down to 3.

We then went to look for a salesman that we got to know when we made a purchase at Lazo Diamond couple of years back. He served us really well & went all the way to look for more choices for us from other branches within his company. So, that's where we selected the other 2 finalists to be on our list. It's all under KIV. Going back to the proposal ring, yes...he found one for me..BUT I refused to accept it yet as there isn't any formal proposal yet..Haha...so it's kept somewhere in 18-18..under his care. NOT mine yet...

One of the many choices that I'm still considering

DaDa's BiRTHDaY

Last Sunday, the 7th of September was Dada's 27th birthday. He was supposed to work 3-11pm, but he managed to change shift with a colleague. So, with that, we both worked 12-8pm. However, before I start talking about where we went to celebrate, I got a scare. My superior wanted the whole team to assist & support a function held that night by another team. Hence, I was shocked...it means I have to stay back & won't be able to celebrate with Dada?? I quickly told him my situation & asked to be excused. Phew~~luckily he was understanding & said OK.

Actually, it wasn't a big deal. Coz I was there to help out & everything was in place before even my shift ended at 8pm. So, since there wasn't much to do and most just stayed to enjoy, I went off. I wanted to let Dada have a scare too, I told him that I had to stay back & help out. So, by the time I get off work, it might be quite late. He had a really disappointed look. Haha...he was soooo cute..he asked whether I could ask to be excused. Asked me to plead to my boss. Hahaha..then I laughed & told him the truth as I can't stand him being like that..

Birthday ice-cream & present

We went back to shower & change, then had a quick dinner. Actually, there's nothing special, as he already received his present.

There was a Lazo Diamond Fair. We were there few days back & saw a pair of lovely rings that we intend to use as wedding rings. However, the problem is that they do not have my size. If they were to alter it, I'm afraid it won't be perfect anymore. Both Dada & I loooove the rings..but I still need time to consider & look around if there are better options. Since it's not like we're in a hurry to get married.

We should be concentrating on proposal ring though. Hahaha...Dada has a mission to look for the perfect one for me. But he is trying to push the responsibility to me. He wants me to be there and choose the one I like the most. He's afraid that I won't like what he chooses for me. Grrr...mana ada orang begitu punya??? Grrrrrr....Go get one for me by yourself!

Before that, I asked if he wanted a cake, coz I said it's rather unnecessary & with just the 2 of us, we can't finish the cake & it's a waste. So, he said it would be fine to share a cup of ice-cream. So, we stopped by at Baskin Robbins. I purposely wanted to shoo him away, asking him to get a table, so that I can ask the staff for the "Happy Birthday" wording to be on the ice cream. Went over to the table & sang the birthday song. He looked happy, well I hope he IS happy, though it was just a simple celebration. Dada, Happy Birthday & hope we will share many, many birthdays in years to come as we grow old together..Muackksss..

ToNy LeuNG's WeDDinG = mY WeDDinG in 2009

I believe the most talked about wedding this year would be the one that was just held on 21st July at a little known country called Bhutan. Not really a place where couples would think of the most 'romantic' place for it...but definitely out of the ordinary that made it so special.

Now I have been thinking hard, what date would I like to make it..as most memorable for the rest of my life? I know it has to be somewhere in July, as I have mentioned earlier, my favourite number is 7.

But there are 31 days in July...which day? definitely no 4s, so 4th, 14th & 24th are all out. Then I'm not sure which one is more important as a date, 8 or 7? Should I choose 8 coz of the good & prosperous meaning of it? Or should I go ahead with my favourite number 7? Well, one thing I know for sure, I won't want it to be 7th of July..as it's so out already, considering the craze it brought when it was 2007.

2009, it's expected the 9th, 19th or 29th should be very packed, as it means longevity & eternity in Chinese, especially good for weddings. Hmm...as I was cracking my head thinking, weeks back, the entertainment world has been speculating that Tony Leung & Carina Lau's wedding would be on 21st July. Then I go..OK, that's the date. I want to celebrate my anniversary with him. Hahaha...it's a special day for me, also a special date for my favourite actor Tony Leung. Yes!!

Nice!
I simply LOVE this dress!!
Very special

My oNLy MiSSinG "C"

Tell me...what are your 5Cs? To me..For as hard as I have been working..now, I'm only left with the final 5th C that I have been chasing for. It's not the 'C' that I should get for myself..but it's every girl's dream & expectation to have her other half get for her..CARAT.

Recently,I just suddenly realise & am very clear on what I want. Seriously, I just went "TING! I know what I want!!"..Since then, I have been searching for the one & only really perfect one. OK, so what really is it? Well, this is what I want:

Not the middle one though..I've decided that my wedding ring, the most important ring in my life, the ring that I have to wear everyday for the rest of my life without fail..should be something like the 2 lower ones. It would be best if there are 7 diamonds on it. Reason being:
7 days in a week = loving you NON-STOP 7 days a week
Moreover, my favourite number has always been 7..:) Well, not reeeeally this one..looks like a row of teeth..but then, sometimes the neat & simple would look good too & seem to be more lasting. So, I might consider this as well. It all depends on whether it looks good on me or not. Will have to try that out.
This round ones in a row looks ok as well. Not really sure which one would look best on both of US. Mind you, this is a WE thing. So, of course, it will have to look good on my Dada too. We have been looking around. However, we have yet to find the PERFECT one. So, we shall just keep on hunting...As I believe in the saying: 'Good things are hard to find. You'll have to spend more time searching for the PERFECT one, and it will just make it all the more PRECIOUS & VALUABLE when you finally found it."

ThouGHts ON ouR BIG DAY

Have been thinking alot about our BIG DAY recently. Actually, have been talking about it for months; as we're both serious in this relationship. From the day the ANGEL PACKAGE was bought, we have been discussing in depth on this subject.

We've made the move to get to know more about wedding rituals & customs, especially with regards to our difference in religion. Mum insisted on a church ceremony, hence we have signed up to a Catholic Pre-Marriage talk. Which means that we can walk down the aisle, without Dada having to go through Baptism & catholic classes after classes. Thank God! Or else we really won't have the chance to get married if we were to go through all that!

Then, there's the difference in geographical locations. We have settled on having 2 dinners separately on both sides. One in KK (1st leg) for all my friends & family there, then another one in KL (2nd leg) for our colleagues from City of Entertainment; my other half of the family here; my other group of friends working here after graduating as well as HIS side.

We have been looking at alot of other couple's wedding video clips & photographs. We know what to take note & remember, as well as which ones to ignore..:-p We're also constantly looking at colours that complement our skin tone, white shoes (for me); shirts with assorted colours (for him) that we find suitable for our photo shoot session as well as the big day.

We've also note down mentally on songs for our wedding video clips, backgrounds for the photo shoots, what colours I should pick for evening gowns, what wedding gown cutting best suits me, which theme to go for (beach?harbour?jungle?)...etc. I shall not reveal our plans here! Let's wait & see..

I think we have also run through countless times in our minds how the whole thing should be...imagine our future together..till we grow old..However, the missing piece now would be, we have no idea on choosing the best date for our big day. But then..good news is that, we'll soon find out! As City of Entertainment will host a bridal fair for the 1st time in history completed with a Feng Shui master to talk about how to choose auspicious dates and all. Cool...I can't wait to see what they have in store for me so that I could pick up another few tips to make my day..the PERFECT DAY!

Mum & dad gave their input as well on their expectations & the things that we should & shouldn't do. Dad made one comment, that since both mummy & him will be coming over to KL at the end of the year, it would then be PARENTS MEET PARENTS day. However, dad made it clear that he WILL NOT consider travelling ALL the way to Taiping to meet them. To be fair for all, mum & dad will travel to KL from KK, where as THEY will travel from Taiping to KL to meet up. Coz dad said, according to customs, it should be the GUY's family coming over to meet the GAL's family. OK..fair enough.

Not forgetting, there's another VIP in my life, that Dada & I love dearly..my little baobei gave her comment as well. She DOESN'T want us to get married...why??For the simple naive reason that she thinks if we were to get married & have our own kids, both Dada & I won't love her as much. Gosh..I'm not sure which way I should react to this..cry as it sounds so touching & heartbreaking? Or laugh as we all know it won't be the case at all? There's always a soft spot in me that only she hits whenever she MANJA me like that..:) *sniff*sniff*

CRuiSe TriP

Received a call from dada few days back while at work. He said his dept is organising a cruise trip next Monday (19th Nov). I have been planning to go on a cruise trip since I dunno when. So now since they have someone organising and the rates are incredibly cheap, OF COZ I wanna go! But then, it's not going to be the initially planned " honeymoon trip" for just the 2 of us. It is also not those 4D+3N travelling from Singapore to Phuket. We'll be on the ship for around 12hrs only. The itinerary will be as below:
19th November (also happens to be Mummy Darling's Birthday):
4PM: Coach taking us down from GHR to Port Klang
7.30PM: Board the cruise ship
8PM: Cruise departs from port
All night long...do whatever you want

Next Morning:
8AM: Arrives at Port Klang to disembark

By the looks of it, seems like the cruise ship does not have time to go too far away from Port Klang at all before coming back again. Wonder if I have the chance to really FEEL it before I have to disembark..The way I look at it, this will be an introduction to what my dada is supposed to plan for us...a trip to any of these will do. Dada, it's true ANYTHING HERE will do...
